Varun Sandesh is an upcoming actor who has made a fantastic start in the Telugu film industry with two big hits.
Background
Varun Sandesh Jeedigunta was born on 21st July 1989 in Rayagada, Orissa, India. His family lives in New Jersey, USA.
He is not the first celebrity in his family. His grandfather, Ramachandra Murthy, was a well known writer and part of the All India Radio. His uncle, Sridhar, is frequently on television and popular in Hyderabad.
Hits n Misses
Varun Sandesh's debut Happy Days (2007) was a big hit. It was a story of a group of college students.
In his second movie, Kotha Bangaru Lokam (2008), he played the role of Balu. It borrowed heavily from the Hollywood movie, Dead Poet's Society. The movie received a positive response.
Evaraina Epudaina (2009) did not perform as well as his previous movies.
Coming Up Next
Sandesh is working on two movies, Kurradu and Marocharitra. They are slated for release in 2009 and 2010 respectively.
Dear friends,
We all know about the happenings in our state now. But we really know, if are all fighting for the real cause.
Please read the attached, "Telangana Issues", article. It has a few excerpts from the speaches of KCR (on various occasions), Harish Rao (in assembly, while resigning) and other T-leaders.
Let us all think, analyze and then take sides; after all, we are in democracy :)

Demand #1:
There are 10 districts in Telangana, 9 in Andhra and 4 in Rayalaseema. Out of these 7 districts in Telangana, 3 in Andhra and 1 in Rayalaseema are considered severely backward districts which means 70% of districts in Telangana are backward while in Andhra it is 35% and in Rayalaseema it is 25%. Apart from these there are some areas in all parts of the state which are also backward.
Ans:
List of districts in Telangana - Adilabad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Warangal,Khammam, Medak, Rangareddy,Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar, Hyderabad. Out of these, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Medak, Khammam, Hyderabad, Rangareddy cannot be categorized as backward districts.
List of districts in Rayalaseema - Kurnool, Kadapa, Ananthapur, Chittoor. Of these Ananthapur, Kadapa and some parts of Chittoor are backward, with Ananthapur being the worst-hit district of whole AP.
List of districts in Coastal Andhra - Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur, Krishna, West Godavari, East Godavari, Visakhapatnam, Vijayanagaram, Srikakulam. Of these, Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram, Visakhapatnam (other than Vizag City), Prakasam, Western parts of Krishna, Guntur (Palnadu area), Godavari (Manyam area) districts are considered backward (compared to the non-backward areas of Telangana).
Clearly, the above statement is more of a prejudiced opinion than a fact.

Demand #2:
45% of the state income comes from Telangana region. When it comes to utilization of funds, the share of Telangana is only 28%.
Ans:
As was pointed out by some members here, the income from hyderabad and rangareddy districts forms a major share of this income. This income
mostly comes from the sectors of Real Estate, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and IT industries. Not to instigate any regional feelings here, but it is worth noting that many of these companies (excluding IT sector to some extent) are owned by non-Telanganites.

Demand #3:
Normally canals are dug to supply water to the crops from rivers for cultivation. The amount of land cultivated through canals in just Guntur district is more than the land cultivated with canals in entire Telangana region.
Ans:
Not true. Guntur district irrigated area is 6,78,197 acres (http://irrigation.cgg.gov.in/dp/GunturDistrictProfile.jsp). Karimnagar district irrigated area is 6,47,402 acres (http://irrigation.cgg.gov.in/dp/KarimnagarDistrictProfile.jsp. Note that 1 Hectare = 2.471 acres).

Demand #4:
Nagarjuna sagar dam is built in Nalgonda district which is in Telangana but majority of the water from the dam is used for Krishna and Guntur district. The original dam was supposed to be build much ahead of its present location but the location was changed so that it falls in the
Telangana region. Due to the construction of the dam several hectares of Lime stone mines vanished as part of the dam back waters. Everyone know that lime stone is used for producing cement. Even the natural resources were not allowed to remain.
Ans:
A bit of a history here - Nagarjuna Sagarproject was originally conceived by the British, around 1903, with Siddeswaram and Pulichintala as possible balancing reservoir sites. Unfortunately, these proposals did not materialize. Floods in Krishna river used to devastate Krishna district, while Guntur and Nalgonda were drought prone. As part of the first five-year plan, Nehru Govt. appointed Khosla committee to examine and report on the optimum and most beneficial utilization of Krishna River waters. The recommendations of the Committee, which were later endorsed by the Planning Commission in December, 1952, are to construct Nandikonda Dam across Krishna River with full reservoir level at +590.00 feet with canals taking off on either side. Water allocated to the Project is 281 TMC. The foundation stone of the Dam was laid by the late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India on 10.12.1955. (It is worth noting here that Andhra Pradesh state was formed in 1956, after the dam foundation was laid. It is outrageous to spread the idea that there's a conspiracy by the Andhrites in shifting the location of the site, when the state itself was not in existence.)
Another piece of interesting information on the background of Nagarjuna Sagar - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raja_of_Muktyala#Achievements.
"Raja spent fifty two lakhs of rupees (in 1950s) as a matching grant for the project construction". What is the investment of Telangana in this project, while reaping the benefits of the project and yet promoting the idea that injustice was done ?
Regarding Limestone quarries, there are enough limestone reserves to support a host of cement industries. For more info - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaggaiahpet#Economy.
Statements that non-telangana regions conspired against Telangana people are false theories spread by people with vested interests.

Demand #5:
Fluorinated water problem is only in Nalgonda district which has not been resolved since decades.
Ans:
This is not a problem specific to Nalgonda district and the statement that no efforts have been made to resolve this issue is not true. This problem existed in many other districts as well (Adilabad, Anantpur, Chittoor, Guntur, Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Krishna, Kurnool, Mahabubnagar, Medak, Nalgonda, Nellore, Prakasam, Ranga Reddy, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Warangal, West Godavari) and parts of Sriakulam. For more info - http://cgwb.gov.in/gw_profiles/st_ap.htm.
The state has initiated (RWS) schemes to resolve this problem. While the majority of drinking water works for Ananthapur district was sponsored by the Satyasai Organization http://www.srisathyasai.org.in/Pages/Service_Projects/Anantapur.htm), the state has sponsored the schemes in Telangana districts. Anyone could see the injustice being done to Rayalaseema here, in favor of Telangana. Yet, the hate speeches organized by Telangana theorists twist this "fact".
Another piece of info that I know firsthand here - The RWS scheme was first proposed in Nizamabad district by the then Chief Engineer Mr U.Kutumba Rao (incidentally, he's from the Andhra Region's Krishna district) and he made sure that the funds were released by the then TDP govt (thanks to Late Sri Karanam Ramachandra Rao, Minister of TDP Govt). No Telangana Politician thought about this for decades together and yet they somehow attribute this problem to Telangana discrimination !!!
Reg. the Nalgonda district, efforts to supply krishna water to the affected districts is almost nearing completion (thanks to the proposal by TDP Govt and Implementation by the Congress Govt.)

Demand #6:
Two major rivers Krishna and Tungabhadra enter the state of AP in the district of Mahaboobnagar (the biggest district in Telangana) but the district always remains the worst draught hit areas along with Anantapur because there is no project and process with which the water can be utilized. The plans for utilization has been pending for decades.
Ans:
To put things in perspective, we need to look at the background of the drought conditions. Agriculture in this district has been primarily done by borewells since long back and indiscriminate increase of this usage, over decades, led to depletion of ground water levels. The contours and the percentage of arable land in this district doesn't help either (Anantapur fares much worse in that the forest cover is only 5%, whereas Mahabubnagar has a forest cover of 16%). The eastern part is upland/hilly and the majority of the soil is Red Chalka type. This district is mostly a catchment area for the rivers, which means this is not really plain land. Govts over the years have tried to implement various measures such as watershed projects (through Desert Development Programmes, Drought Prone Region Development Programmes etc), Small check dams and drip irrigation schemes. The efforts of the Govts led to an increase in ground water level and rejuvenation of around 31000 borewells.
This is not to say that the Govts have done enough. Much more needs to be done here, which has not been done so far.
Currently, Nettempadu Lift Irrigation Project, Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation Project and Rajiv Lift Irrigation Projects are being implemented and upon their completion, this district will hopefully be no more categorized as drought-prone.

Demand #7:
In Telangana regions, only few areas cultivate one crop a year and very rarely two crops a year while most of the land doesn't even cultivate
single crop. In both the Godavari districts, Krishna and Guntur district, two crops a year is common and there are times where even 3 crops a year are cultivated. The only reason is WATER.
Ans:
Not all regions of Godavari/Krishna/Guntur cultivated three crops a year. And this is not the reality anymore, particularly for Krishna river basin. The water for second crop itself is not guaranteed anymore (Pulichintala is the solution for this).

Demand #8:
33% of the population in Mahaboobnagar district have left the district for livelihood to different parts of the state due to draught and majority of them are working as daily labour. No other district has so many people who fled the home place due to lack of livelihood and working as daily labour.
Ans:
This is not a problem unique to Mahabubnagar. Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts have the same problem. The problem in Mahabubnagar district is conveniently projected as a Telangana issue.

Demand #9:
Dairy development corporation of AP purchases milk from farmers across the state for distribution. For the same milk, in Andhra, the government pay Rs. 24 to the farmers and in Telangana they pay Rs. 22 per litre. Partiality is shown even in milk
Ans:
Milk procurement price is dependent on various quality parameters, one of them being the fat content. For eg., Mahabubnagar district in the 90s produced milk with low fat content (reasons ranged from feeding practices and quality cattle, to diluting milk with water). The then Govt installed Technical Assistance Services to implement bank credits for procuring quality cattle, cattle insurance, cattle vaccinations, Milk testing centers etc. This led to increase in Milk production, Fat content (from 6% to 7.3%) and an increase of profits for Milk producers (in Wanaparthy segment alone, there was an increase of 40laks in profit, in 3 years). The point to be noted here is that there's no discrimination done here, as projected by the statement above.
In fact, the AP dairy federation's Milk Procurement Price ranges from Rs.25.50 to Rs. 28.00/Ltr for Buffalo milk and Rs. 11.91 to Rs. 12.53/Ltr for Cow milk.

Demand #10:
In between 2005-2008 government sold lands worth Rs. 20000 crores in and around Hyderabad which was utilized to build projects in Rayalaseema and Andhra.
Ans:
Properties were sold not just in Hyderabad. This happened in Vijayawada and Vizag as well to some extent. The figure of 20000 crores itself is highly debatable. Added to that, the Govt has spent (and has been spending) on the following Telangana projects -
1. Alisagar Lift Irrigation Project
2. J. Chokka Rao Project (Phase I and II)
3. Gutpa Lift Irrigation Project
4. Alimineti Madhava Reddy Project
5. Sriram Sagar Project (Phase I and II) and the flood canal
6. Bhima Lift Irrigation project
7. Sripada Rao Lift Irrigation project
8. Dummugudem project
9. Kalwakurthi Lift Irrigation Project
10. Nettempadu Lift Irrigation Project
11. Lendi Project
12. Suddavagu, Peddavagu, Palemvagu, Gollavagu, Ralivagu, Mathadivagu, Modikuntavagu and Gundlavagu projects
13. Komuram Bheem Project
14. Koilsagar Lift Irrigation Scheme
15. Kinnerasani Project
16. Ichampally Project (Govt has been trying to resolve longstanding interstate issues and is trying to get national project status for this. It is worth noting that no Telangana leader/intellectual has tried to get these issues
resolved or lobbied for the national status and yet non-telangana regions are somehow blamed for non-implementation of this project.)
It should also be noted that many of these projects are lift-based (that is, arable/cultivable land are on higher altitudes than that of the rivers' flow). This is due to the topography of the Telangana region (Deccan Plateau). The power 'consumption' for operating/maintaining these projects are enormous. For eg. the Nettempadu, Kalwakurty and Devadula projects require 1200MW of power. On the other hand, the Pulichintala project will add 120MW and Polavaram project will add 960 MW of power 'production'. Most of the Telangana region falls under Semi-Arid/Arid land forms.

Demand #11:
Not even a single project was completed in Telangana in the last 5 years while several projects were completed in Andhra and Rayalaseema.
Ans:
Another baseless statement. The following projects in Telangana regions have become operational in the last 5 years -
1. Devadula Lift Irrigation Project (Phase I) (benefits 60,000 acres) became operational in March, 2008.
2. Alisagar Lift Irrigation Project (benefits 54,000 acres) became operational in November, 2007.
3. A. Madhava Reddy Project(Phase I) (benefits 50,000 acres) became operational in September, 2006.
Compared to this, the following projects became operational in Andhra/Rayalaseema region -
1. Pushkara Lift Irrigation in East Godavari district (mostly to the non-irrigated North and Westerm parts of the district). This project benefits 80,000 acres.
2. Tadipudi Lift Irrigation scheme, mostly for providing drinking water to the water-starved upland mandals of West Godavari district, is partially Operational.
3. Brahmamsagar Project (benefits 50,000 acres) in Cuddapah district
4. Pedderu Reservoir (benefits 13,000 acres) in Visakhapatnam district
5. Jhanjhavati Project (benefits 9000 acres) in Vizianagaram district

Demand #12:
3 TMC of water from Gandipet is sufficient to supply drinking water to our city. Every year 1700 TMC of water is wasted and is flown into Bay of Bengal from river Godavari. Starting from Nizambad to Bay of Bengal there is no project allowed to build on Godavari. If it is built leaders in Godavari districts fear that the fertile lands in the area may fall short of water. If the Godavari water is utilized properly, there will be no scarcity for food grains in our state.
Ans:
The statement is contradicting itself. Godavari districts are not using the 1700 tmc water, as the statement says. What would they gain, by blocking projects that utilize this water ? 1700 tmc is equivalent to more than 4 Nagarjunasagar reservoirs ! And 1200 tmc is way above the requirements of telangana region, which means there will still be water left to sea. Why would Godavari districts block when they have no use of this water ?
Also, "no project allowed" implies blaming non-telangana region. Who 'allows' the projects ?? If the allegation is that there is politicial interference, then the Telangana MLAs are more in number, compared to Godavari districts. Why didn't anyone resort to such 'Aamarana Deeksha' for getting projects built ? Telangana leaders/intellectuals conveniently cover up the fact that longstanding interstate issues existed between Maharashtra, (the now) Chattisgarh and AP for Ichampally Project. Why haven't any of these leaders/intellectuals helped the Govt in these issues, if they're so interested ? They also do not mention that the Sripada Sagar dam is one of the larger capacity dams built on Godavari river for the benefit of Telanagana region, after AP was formed.
Godavari dists are mostly irrigated based on the projects/canals built by the british (other than the new dowleswaram barrage). They couldn't even get new projects implemented for benefitting the backward western parts (the manyam areas) and they're being blamed for blocking Telangana projects.

Through out the history, nuclear political regions are created for various socio-economic problems. There by paving the path for better governance.
The prevailing corrupt political regimes and the leaders in India do not seem guarantee any such development even in smaller states(just for comparision, we can look into any of the North-Eastern States, or for that sake even the recently created Jharkhand, Chattisgarh or uttaranchal). Most countries of the World (or should I say 3rd World!) are smaller and are yet backward.
I am sad to say that, whatever we are fighting for, whether seperate Telangana or Unified Andhra Pradesh, will again be ruled by the same corrupt political leaders. All our leaders are filthy rich but not our poor farmers. And when ever there is any agitation, only the poor man dies, not any of our hon'ble leaders or their kin. Did you ever wondered why?
Not too long ago, a seperate country, Pakistan, was formed, torn out of India, citing under-development, improper representation of muslim community and self-rule of Muslims. Now, we all know the pathetic condition of the people there. Lakhs of people died during the bloody division. Again none of the leaders died! Only common people. They gained self-rule, but the people are nothing better than any EVM. Even after 63 years of independence, feudalism still exists. More than 80% of the population there lives on daily labour and is trasitory poor. Of course, the country itself is living on weekly ration. Pakistan could never develop, because, the very reason it wanted to seperate is false. And hence after seperation, nobody there ever cared or bothered about the reasons for which they needed a seperate country. Similarly, if we are not clear about the purpose of a seperate state, we may too end up with no greater change.
The Gini Coeficcient for India is 0.393(indicates distribution of income. 0 = ideal and equal distribution, 1 = total income distributed among only few). This is alarming as we may be pushed into a complete consumption based economy.
In the situation, our state politics stand, I opine:
1# De-centralization of power and localization of economy would ensure a rapid development rather than smaller states with same centralized political power.
2# Strenghthening Paychayat Raj system and entrusting developmental responsibilities on the local MLA/MP, with proper vigilance would increase the people's part in the Politico-economic system. Thus, people would be more educative wouldn't fall prey to any such misleading information by corrupt politicians.
3# Development of several nodal tier-1 cities, at least, 2 to 3 cities per district and mobilize income to the local regions. This would help in curbing the people migration to other places.
If we could implement the above, then it doesn' really matter if the State stays united or seperated.
By-the-by, did any party, MLA or MP, ever talk at least word about any time-frame, by when they can develop the Telangana state, if seperated? I know, nobody wants to talk and we masses never bother to ask. That is our demo'curse'y.

WISHING YOU ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS
&
HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR
Ever wondered how does a 30 meters tall trees take water all the way up without a pump? Here's what I found the nature...sunlight acts like a pump, evaporating water one drop at a time and thus this particular drop pulls other drop up....since in a tree the water is stored in columns of drops....beautifull isnt it?
A tall tree as a 30-story building how does it take water all the way up. A tree releases as much as 605 liters of water in a day through its leaves and, by necessity, moves that water up from its roots. How does the tree manage?
Trees have a system of interconnected wood cells for carrying water. The hollow, short, thin cells are stacked intricately to form an incredibly tall column, extending from the roots through the branches and stems to the leaves.
The cells are dead wood that function as pipes with pitted openings along the sides of the pipe for water to pass between adjacent cells. The small cells rarely exceed a quarter of an inch in length (5 millimeters) and are only about 30 microns in diameter (about three times the diameter of a red blood cell).
Redwoods must form a continuous column of water within this pipe in order to move water through the pipe. We believe redwoods form the column when the tree is a newly germinated seedling. The tree maintains the water column intact throughout its life time. Consider the wind and how it tosses trees around. Only the millions of small compartments that enclose the water keep the water column whole. A single pipe would not work.
Two forces move the water: a push and a pull. Roots do most of the pushing but capillary action (the tendency of water to rise in a thin tube by flowing up the walls of the tube) kicks in a small pressure. The push can support a column of water about three yards high (two to three meters). The pull takes over from there.
The driving engine behind the pull is the evaporation of water and the attraction between water molecules. The molecules have both a positive and a negatively charged part and, therefore, stick together with a strong force--experimentally determined to be25 to 30 atmospheres. That's enough to crush a World War II submarine at 1000 feet below the surface. A redwood tree routinely maintains a negative pressure of 14 atmospheres at the top of the water column (with one atmosphere at the base) and the column withstands this pressure without breaking. This is how it happens:
Water evaporating from the leaves starts the suction pull. A water molecule evaporates from a leaf and pulls on the molecules around it as it departs. This creates a small suction in the water column and pulls water from adjacent water-conducting leaf cells. These molecules, in turn, attract those around them. The chain continues to the ground and moves water from the roots to the tree top just as a pump brings water to the surface from a well.
The Sun's energy, which evaporates the water from the leaf surface in the first place, is the pump engine

Counselling psychology is the largest specialty area within psychology. The Society of Counselling Psychology describes this field as “…a psychological specialty that facilitates personal and interpersonal functioning across the lifespan with a focus on emotional, social, vocational, educational, health-related, developmental and organizational concerns.” Those pursuing or wanting to pursue counselling psychology as a career will find a large vista of optional career paths also opening up to them. These can be related to research, teaching, vocational counselling, and of course, psychotherapy.
There is a gamut of options when it comes to studying counselling psychology courses online or through distance education, but before enrolling into one, make sure that the course has international accreditation. While most online courses offer all or most of the above qualifications, it is still better to do a thorough background check on the colleges one has shortlisted before paying the course fees. However, one also has to decide before enrolling into a counselling psychology course which area of specialization one is looking for as there is virtually no limit to career options available after graduating from such courses. Even large corporate houses these days employ counselors, therapists and psychologists as workplaces are becoming sources of great emotional and psychological stress.
Counselling psychologists can even work independently. Many schools and colleges look for counselling psychologists and therapists for guiding their students. One’s job could be guiding students to the right career path by way of career counselling or counselling hyperactive or troubled students to ease their problems. Other fields where services of counselling psychologists are required are crisis counselling centers, hospitals, individual self-help groups, as well as rehabilitation centers. Even though to become a practicing counselling psychologist requires a education and training, what is perhaps most important is patience. Without patience one cannot hope to become a good counselor or a therapist in the field. One has to deal with different kinds of people and with a wide spectrum of mental problems. Sometimes things might get a little nasty too. But with patience, perseverance, and above all dedication one can chalk out a successful career path in counselling psychology. Counselling psychologists do a great service to society by helping people in need of guidance. They are directly responsible for fostering good mental health and preventing mental, physical, and social disorders.

Apple iPad has really attracted a lot of attention during these last days, as usual with any Apple launch. But some critics think the iPad is not so great and cool... among others, they argue these issues:
* Apple iPad doesn't support multitasking. You only can run one application at a time.
* Flash is not supported. Ouch! Do you know how many websites include flash out there? Yes, an enormous number!
* Believe it or not, there is no cameras on the iPad. Come on! It's not 1990 anymore. However, some reports claim that the iPad Hardware would have a potential slot for a camera. Maybe we have to wait for another version.
* There is no HDMI output. Hmmm. So, this latest and modern computer cannot be connected to your new TV. At least by using that port.
* Unbelievable! The Apple iPad doesn't have USB ports. So, you will need special adapters. Yep! Even your old PC is better than the iPad in this field.
* Some people say the touch keyboard is slow, not very useful, and uncomfortable. Ok, maybe this point is subjective... or maybe not!
* The internal memory is limited and you can't increase it. So, please think carefully before buying an iPad. You need to know what capacity is enough for you: At this time, there are iPad versions with 6, 32, and 64 Gb.
So, is Apple iPad a fiasco? Not really, it is a great step toward a new way of working with computers but, of course, it is not perfect and there is a huge space for many improvements.

- Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow.
Don't walk behind me, I may not lead.
Walk beside me and be my friend.

Improve your Communication Skills
Here are 6 great tips you can use!
1. Awareness of your own interaction with other people is the first step in improving your communication skills.
Learn to identify which types of situations make you uncomfortable and then modify your behavior to achieve positive results is a critical step in improving your communication skills.
You can learn to become aware of behaviors in other people that prompt you to respond in negative ways and modify your own behavior to turn the situation into a positive experience.
2. You must accept responsibility for your own behavior and do not fear apologizing for errors in judgment or insensitive actions.
Asking others for honest feedback about the way you interact with others can be very helpful. Accept the negative feedback along with the positive and make changes accordingly.
3. Your non-verbal communication is equally as important as the things that you say. Positive body language is extremely important in your interactions with other people. If your words and your actions do not match, you will have a difficult time succeeding in social situations.
4. In order to learn how to improve your communication skills, you must become a great listener. You must fight the urge to respond immediately and really listen to what the other person is trying to communicate.Offering suggestions or criticism before you are certain of the other person's intent can only lead to frustration for both parties.
5. Improving your communication skills is a process and cannot be accomplished overnight. Trying to improve or change too many things at once will be counter-productive. You will become discouraged and overwhelmed if you attempt to change your entire personality all at once. Choose one or two traits at a time and work on those over a period of time. Learn to take advantage of your personal strengths and make a positive impact on others.
6. Maximize your positive personality traits and use them in your interactions with others. Good communication and great listening skills are the most important tools you can use in improving your communication skills.
You can learn how to improve your communication skills by developing excellent listening skills, learning to resolve problems and conflicts, understanding body language, and accepting responsibility for your own negative behavior.
Determination and self-awareness will make your desire to improve your communication skills a reality.
You can change your life and now is the time to start.
Exceptional communication skills can be Learned...and Mastered!!!
Wish you all a very very happy and prosperous new year and all your wishes come true in this precious year right from day One.
I wish you all success and happiness in the times to come.
India is and has been subjected to a political class, now increasingly family oriented with more shamless bias, that represents corruption and indifference. A class of people who entriely depend on citizens for survival, actually manage to ignore the same citizen and expolite him thoroughly.
How does a citizen act when he is compounded with ineffective judiciary, shameless police force and corrupt babudom ? added to this misery are a huge pile of uneducated citizens who are often swayed by emotions, small money and small gifts to keep the corrupt in power and strength.
The simple way to react is to stay HONEST oneself and imbibe this attribute on those around oneself. Refuse to give bribe and reject the idea of short cuts with money. But the malice is so powerful and compelling that a stronger medicines needs to be administered to correct the corrupted system and the political class which designs and manages this system. The way suggested is to start a Gandhian NON-Cooperation movement with this system. Ignore all that is bad in the system and boycott the same. Boycott political meetings. Reject criminal and corrupt politicians by mass and total boycott of elections. Refuse to pay taxes where possible, which actually finances this rot.

Singing and Smoking - How to quit before it's too late:
For some of you, the thought of smoking and singing is not even a fathomable idea. If you are one of those lucky non-smoking people, don't skip this article, but forward it on to someone that needs to read it.
I won't begin this by trying to act like a high and mighty person that has never had a puff before. I have had MANY a puff and finally came to the decision that it just isn't worth it.
I began smoking in high school - like many people often do and then it became a habit in college. The old saying "I just smoke when I drink" became an alibi and then I found myself buying a pack every week, and then every other day.
Throughout my pregnancy - I did not smoke and I kept this vow until about a year ago, when emotional times hit hard and I thought that a cigarette would help the situation. It is amazing the way the mind works at times eh?
Finally, after really looking at myself and what I represent (I am a vocal instructor for goodness sakes!!) I made a commitment to quit and have been nicotine free for some time now. It is a commitment I plan to keep and hope in some way that I can help you realize a few things about yourself if you smoke:
#1) You are not a weak person because you smoke: You have an addiction. Much like an alcoholic, cocaine addict, or even someone who drinks 20 Diet Cokes a day. This does not mean that you are any less of a person or that you have some personal defect in your personality or ethics.
2) Smoking does not relax you: smoking merely relieves the situation that smoking created in the first place - the need for nicotine.
3) There are NO benefits to smoking: At least with one glass of red wine a day, there are proven benefits - but with smoking there is not ONE thing that improves your overall looks and health.
4) Every time you take a puff, you risk the chance of losing your career and/or your life: In the tissues of the respiratory tract, cigarette smoke provokes effects similar to those of inflammation: redness, swelling, increased mucus production, and thickening of the surface lining or mucosa. Both the smoke particles and the heat of the inhaled fumes appear to damage the mucosa. Interestingly, unfiltered marijuana smoke causes even greater irritation to the throat and trachea than does tobacco smoke.
A laryngologist can recognize smokers just by the typical appearance of their nose and throat: nicotine staining of the nasal hairs, dry throat, dry swollen vocal cords, and tenacious secretions. Singers who smoke have a harsh breathy voice and a loss of clarity in their upper range. Women who smoke may suffer from polyps on their vocal cords and severe degeneration, polyps which have the appearance of big balloon blisters. Persons with chronic smoking-related inflammation often develop leukoplakia, or white patches on the lining of the throat, a known precursor of cancer.
If you want to quit, here are a few things that may help you:
1) Make it a WHOLE body experience: Make it a lifestyle change. Eat healthier, drink GOOD water, take vitamins, stretch...BREATHE deeper.
2) Write down WHY you should quit and WHO would benefit besides yourself. You have many people who love you and would miss you if you were gone. Think about how they would feel if you had to call them and tell them you had cancer. Sounds awful, but it is the truth.
3) Every time you get an urge: Remember, a craving usually only lasts for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Do something fun for that 1 minute - whether it be listen to a song really loud, do jumping jacks, or call a friend.
4) Make a public commitment - Once you decide to quit - tell EVERYONE and they will help make you accountable for your decision.
5) Praise yourself!! - You have taken the first step to feeling and looking better! You had the balls to say - "I'm not going to contribute to killing myself ANY longer" and that mere fact will help fuel you on days you feel like taking a puff.
6) Watch your hangouts - As singers, we tend to find ourselves in environments where there is drinking and smoking going on. Try to book gigs in non-smoking environments, such as coffeehouses, or places with outdoor patios. Also, when you are out and others are smoking around you - take that opportunity to walk around or go to the bathroom.
7) We often smoke when we are bored or confused:
-
Plan more activities than you have time for.
-
For those empty minutes, make a list of things you like to do.
-
Move! Do not stay in the same place too long.
-
Carry a book, magazine, or crossword puzzle for waiting times.
-
Notice what is going on around you. (Look at the shape of the buildings you pass, listen to the sounds outside around you.)
-
Carry something (like a cell phone) to keep your hands busy.
-
Listen to a favorite song.
-
Go outdoors, if you can, but not to places you associate with smoking
In closing, I am not going to bombard you with statistics or pictures of gross black lungs to try and scare you. You can find that in one easy Google search. Instead, I want to leave you with some words of encouragement and remember - there are SO many of us out there that have been in your shoes. The only difference is, we are breathing better and saving a bit of money as an added bonus.
Take this quote to heart as you begin your journey to quit:
"Have the courage to live. Anyone can die." ~ Robert Cody
Strumming and singing:
For me, playing the guitar has always come relatively easy. I pick things up fast, and a little practice can go a long way. However, like many other guitarists, trying to get comfortable with my singing voice has been like searching for the elusive Holy Grail! Not to mention that accompanying myself on the guitar means I have to read the map and drive the car at the same time. The faster I drive and the more intricate the path, the harder it makes them both to do. Having searched now for the better part of 5 years, I still have not found the grail, but I have traveled many miles and have some suggestions for those who are also searching.
First of all, assuming you have little or no experience with the technique of proper vocal delivery, you must take stock of what you have as a singer. Is your voice smooth or gruff? Is it sweet or raspy? Most people hate the sound of their own voice, but that does not mean you don't have the ability to convey a song with conviction. Look at singers like Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Van Morrison, and Tom Waits. These are not gorgeous tenors, but they all have style and are more than effective storytellers.
Along those same lines, you need to assess your range. Many men believe that singing lower is easier and better sounding for them, but this is not always the case. The male voice is composed of three one octave registers (which usually overlap some). These are: chest, head, and falsetto. The chest range for most men is similar to the lowest octave on the guitar, E (6 string open) to E (4th string, 2nd fret). The head range is the next octave, E (4th string, 2nd fret) to E (1st string, open), and most men's falsetto range is about D (2nd string, 3rd fret) up to a high D or so. However, each man's range is different (though it can usually be expanded upon with proper practice), and everyone has a "sweet spot" in their vocal range. If you sing in the wrong register, you may never sound good. The key to success for any vocalist is finding material that suits their capabilities.
Now it's time to pick a song and practice. It can be tricky to maintain one rhythm in your hands while singing another, but if you rehearse anything long enough, you'll develop the independence needed to reproduce both parts. Start simple, and practice the parts separately before doing them together. If you can't sing the proper melody a cappella (without accompaniment), then you need more practice. Once you can do each part accurately, then, slowly at first, combine them. Make sure to slow the overall tempo so you can be more perceptive of what you are doing. Also, tape record the practice so you can listen independently later. Taped evaluation is crucial to not only assess your tone and hear your weaknesses, but also to share them for criticism from peers and teachers.
Beginning vocal students are notorious for being shy about public performance. Don't embarrass yourself by making mistakes because you're nervous. Share a tape and you'll know exactly what your audience will hear. In my opinion, the most important thing to keep in mind for the beginning vocalist is good breath support. Breathing deeply and from the diaphragm will not only give you the breath you need to croon, but will also allow you to relax as you sing and play at the same time. Tension caused by playing too difficult a guitar part, combined with the nervousness of struggling with your voice, can settle in your vocal cords, limitimg your range and ability to produce a good tone, not to mention inhibiting your senses of pitch and rhythm.

Be sure the guitar part is second nature so you can focus on breathing and singing. With proper deep breathing, the stomach should expand with inhilation, and as you breath out, the stomach should come back in with a slight pressure on the abdominal muscles. Make sure this is the case while you are singing. If your standing with the guitar, you should feel your stomach go out against the guitar as you breathe in. Then, use your diaphram and the slight muscle pressure I mentioned above to push out your tone. If you sit with an acoustic guitar, you're going to need good posture so that the air can flow, but I suggest if you don't already have great breath support, then you should always practice standing up. Take time to get used to your body, and if you're having problems, you should have a qualified vocal coach evaluate you with your guitar strapped on to learn ways to support your breathing.
Some more things to keep in mind:
- Sing the melody exactly - Study the recording and/or transcription of the song you're trying to perform, and make sure you sing the exact same pitch relationships as the original version (if you want to change the key to better suit your range, that is fine). Later you can take "artistic license" with the vocal melody if desired, but for the sake of good practice, do it exactly until you get it perfect.
- Always warm up - Don't sing if you don't feel like it. My warm up exercise is simply to hum (with my mouth closed) from my lowest comfortable pitch to my highest and back down. You'll need plenty of breath to do it slowly and with control, and you should pay particular attention to the crossover between your head and falsetto registers. If you can blend these nicely and without a break, you're off to a good start. Next, I yawn a few times. Seriously. If you yawn out a high pitch and roll it down with your mouth wide open, you are demonstrating good vocal technique (don't overemphasize the actual yawn!). Making a moterboat sound with your lips while you sing through a song is another great warm-up, and don't forget the importance of warming up your mind. Study the lyric and find the emotions you'll need to communicate the story.
- Don't breath too deep or push too hard while singing - Once mastered, deep breathing while singing should be as effortless and second nature as it is while jogging (if you're a good jogger!), and it should not be forced. If you experience light-headedness while practicing, simply take a break for rest, as this should be expected for a beginner.
- Avoid tension. Tension below your vocal chords affects your breathing, while tension above them affects the sound of your voice. Don't lock your knees, clench your teeth, or reach out your chin to get to the microphone. Just relax and enjoy.
To anyone who's reading this and would like to start singing, then jump right in. Part of the process is developing a relationship with your singing voice, much like the relationship you have with your guitar. You are going to need to go ahead and make all the mistakes, and you have to be brave about it. You will be embarassed and you will feel incredibly awkward, but when you get the hang of it, it can be one of the most personal and enjoyable forms of expression. You will be rewarded in terms of musical growth, and you will be a more valuable musician.
Breathing 101 for Singers & Vocalists
INTRODUCTION
Breathing properly for singing is the most important foundation technique. Each and every tone we create is carried on the airflow of our breath. The more control you have over the air flow, the more control you will have over your singing tone.
Imagine a kite flying high in the air. When the airflow is consistent, the kite will fly smoothly and steadily on top of the air current. When the airflow is inconsistent the kite will bob and dive with no rhyme or reason. Your singing tone is much like that kite. If you provide a strong steady airflow, your vocal tone will have the opportunity to ride strongly and smoothly to our ears. But if your airflow is uncontrolled and inconsistent your voice will break and waiver.
The purpose of this narration is to teach you to breathe properly. The purpose of the breathing exercise below is to increase your breathing capacity and control.
Before beginning this breathing exercise variation, please note that bringing more oxygen into your body than accustomed can sometimes result in lightheadedness or dizziness. Please take care to stand close to something that offers support should you need to steady yourself. Conferring with a physician is recommended before beginning any exercise routine.
BREATHING 101
To breathe properly for singing, you must breathe low into the bottom portion of the lungs, engaging the diaphragm. Your rib cage and back will expand. Your shoulders and upper chest will remain still and will not rise.
Try it yourself: Inhale deeply and exhale completely. Again inhale and exhale.
Now try it again, only this time inhale for four counts, hold your breath for four counts, exhale over four counts and then wait four counts before inhaling again. Let's do three complete sets of that counting exercise. Remember to inhale deeply and properly for singing.
Inhale 2 3 4, Hold 2 3 4 Exhale 2 3 4 and Wait 2 3 Again.
Inhale 2 3 4, Hold 2 3 4 Exhale 2 3 4 and Wait 2 3 Last Time.
Inhale 2 3 4, Hold 2 3 4 Exhale 2 3 4 and Wait 2 3 4.
This basic exercise is an easy one you can do every day. Plain fact, the more you exercise your breathing, the more control you will have over your voice. With a little time and practice you will be a master of breathing control. As you make progress, challenge yourself to increase the breathing count to 8, 12, 16 and more. For best results mix and match the numbers. The size of singing phrase is never the same, so practicing all different airflow situations is ideal. Breathing correctly needs to be a habit, meaning you need to do it correctly without thinking about it. So in the beginning you really want to concentrate on the proper technique.
BONUS TIP: Are you sure you're breathing right? If you are uncertain of yourself see if this little experiment helps. Sit in a chair and while keeping your back straight, lean over and put your elbows on your knees. Take a deep breath. Feel your back and rib cage expand? Now sit up and work to duplicate the feeling, only the expansion should be a ring around your entire body.

This is a channel-bridge over the River Elbe and joins the former East and West Germany, as part of the unification project. It is located in the city of Magdeburg, near Berlin. The photo was taken on the day of inauguration.
It only needs to be designed to withstand the weight of the water! Why? A ship always displaces an amount of water that weights the same as ship, regardless of how heavily a ship may be loaded.
Schwebebahn, which translates to floating railway but in English it is generally called the hanging railway or the suspension railway. The official German name is Einschienige Hangebahn System Eugen Langen.

Wupppertal is located in the hills of "Bergisches Land". It's easy to reach, both by car and by train, from Cologne, Düsseldorf and the Ruhr-region. It is roughly a thirty minute train ride from all three places. The Hanging Railway stops at the main railway station, Hauptbahnhof in German.

There's something that makes Wuppertal unique in this world: It has a suspension railway!
The "Wuppertaler Schwebebahn" has been connecting the different centers of Wuppertal for more than 100 years now. If you ever get the chance to go on a suspension train here take it. It's fun and very extra ordinary

All in all, the Hanging Railway is more of a unique experience rather than an exciting railway journey. Well worth trying if you are in the neighborhood. Although Wuppertal has some other attractions, most tourists go to Wuppertal just for the Schwebebahn.

I am here to prove that Study = Fail
We already know that->
Study = No Fail -(1).
& No Study = Fail -(2).
Adding (1) & (2)
We get,
(No+1) Study = (No+1)Fail
or Study = Fail..
Hence Proved...
Scientific experts from around the world are genuinely predicting that five years from now, all life on Earth could well finish. Some are saying it'll be humans that set it off. Others believe that a natural phenomenon will be the cause. And the religious folks are saying it'll be God himself who presses the stop button...
1. Mayan Calendar
The first mob to predict 2012 as the end of the world were the Mayans, a bloodthirsty race that were good at two things:
Building highly accurate astrological equipment out of stone and Sacrificing Virgins.
Thousands of years ago they managed to calculate the length of the lunar moon as 329.53020 days, only 34 seconds out. The Mayan calendar predicts that the Earth will end on December 21, 2012. Given that they were pretty close to the mark with the lunar cycle, it's likely they've got the end of the world right as well.
2. Sun Storms
Solar experts from around the world monitoring the sun have made a startling discovery: our sun is in a bit of strife. The energy output of the sun is, like most things in nature, cyclic, and it's supposed to be in the middle of a period of relative stability. However, recent solar storms have been bombarding the Earth with so much radiation energy, it's been knocking out power grids and destroying satellites. This activity is predicted to get worse, and calculations suggest it'll reach its deadly peak sometime in 2012
3. The Atom Smasher
Scientists in Europe have been building the world's largest particle accelerator. Basically its a 27km tunnel designed to smash atoms together to find out what makes the Universe tick. However, the mega-gadget has caused serious concern, with some scientists suggesting that it's properly even a bad idea to turn it on in the first place. They're predicting all manner of deadly results, including mini black holes. So when this machine is fired up for its first serious experiment in 2012, the world could be crushed into a super-dense blob the size of a basketball.
4. The Bible says...
If having scientists warning us about the end of the world isn't bad enough, religious folks are getting in on the act aswell. Interpretations of the Christian Bible reveal that the date for Armageddon, the final battle between Good an Evil, has been set down for 2012. The I Ching, also known as the Chinese book of Changes, says the same thing, as do various sections of the Hindu teachings.
5. Super Volcano
Yellowstone National Park in the United States is famous for its thermal springs and Old Faithful geyser. The reason for this is simple - it's sitting on top of the world's biggest volcano, and geological experts are beginning to get nervous sweats. The Yellowstone volcano has a pattern of erupting every 650,000 years or so, and we're many years overdue for an explosion that will fill the atmosphere with ash, blocking the sun and plunging the Earth into a frozen winter that could last up to 15,000 years. The pressure under the Yellowstone is building steadily, and geologists have set 2012 as a likely date for the big bang.
6. The Physicists
This one's case of bog-simple maths mathematics. Physicists at Berekely Uni have been crunching the numbers. and they've determined that the Earth is well overdue for a major catastrophic event. Even worse, they're claiming their calculations prove, that we're all going to die, very soon - while also saying their prediction comes with a certainty of 99 percent- and 2012 just happens to be the best guess as to when it occurs.
7. Slip-Slop-Slap-BANG!
We all know the Earth is surrounded by a magnetic field that sheilds us from most of the sun's radiation. What you might not know is that the magnetic poles we call north and south have a nasty habit of swapping places every 750,000 years or so - and right now we're about 30,000 years overdue. Scientists have noted that the poles are drifting apart roughly 20-30kms each year, much faster than ever before, which points to a pole-shift being right around the corner. While the pole shift is underway, the magnetic field is disrupted and will eventually disappear, sometimes for up to 100 years. The result is enough UV outdoors to crisp your skin in seconds, killing everything it touches.
The Maya Calendar was the center of Maya life and their greatest cultural achievement. The Maya Calendar's ancestral knowledge guided the Maya's existence from the moment of their birth and there was little that escaped its influence. The Maya Calendar made by the Maya World Studies Center in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico follows a centuries old tradition.
This Maya Calendar website is developing with the intent of providing a complete view of Maya culture; being that the Maya world was centered on the calendar, this name is more than appropriate for the Maya World Studies Center website.

The Maya are probably the best-known of the classical civilizations of Mesoamerica. Mayan history starts in the Yucatan around 2600 B.C., Mayan history rose to prominence around A.D. 250 in present-day southern Mexico, Guatemala, western Honduras, El Salvador, and northern Belize.
Building on the inherited inventions and ideas of earlier civilizations such as the Olmec, the Maya developed astronomy, calendrical systems and hieroglyphic writing. The Maya were noted as well for elaborate and highly decorated ceremonial architecture, including temple-pyramids, palaces and observatories, all built without metal tools. Mayan history shows that they were also skilled farmers, clearing large sections of tropical rain forest and, where groundwater was scarce, building sizeable underground reservoirs for the storage of rainwater. The Maya were equally skilled as weavers and potters, and cleared routes through jungles and swamps to foster extensive trade networks with distant peoples.
Many people believe that the ancestors of the Maya crossed the Bering Strait at least 20,000 years ago. They were nomadic hunter-gatherers. Evidence of settled habitation in Mexico is found in the Archaic period 5000-1500 BC - corn cultivation, basic pottery and stone tools.
We all need someone
To talk to in our life,
A friend to whom we run
In times of stress or strife
A friend who's always there
Throughout the years,
A friend we know will care
And take away our fears.
A friend who's always near,
Waiting for our call,
To wipe away our tears,
And lift us when we fall.
A loving friend indeed,
On whom we can depend
To fulfill our every need -
Thank you,
really ur my precious friend.....
Ever taken the Churchgate - Virar local in Mumbai?
It's a mind numbing and life altering experience. First and foremost you will have to do a Usain Bolt to even catch the local that would halt at a Dadar for a few precious nanoseconds, then some powerful elbowing (à la Dara Singh) would be needed to make a toehold in the compartment.

Complex adaptive systems have many properties and the most important are,:
· Emergence: Rather than being planned or controlled the agents in the system interact in apparently random ways. From all these interactions patterns emerge which informs the behaviour of the members within the system and the behaviour of the system itself. For example a member profile is a wondrous piece of architecture with a maze of interconnecting friends, music, videos, blogs and much more. Yet there is no grand plan, the Social Networking Site just emerges as a result of the Members following a few simple local rules.
· Co-evolution: All Social Networking Sites exist within their own environment and they are also part of that environment. Therefore, as their environment changes they need to change to ensure best fit. But because they are part of their environment, when they change, they change their environment, and as it has changed they need to change again, and so it goes on as a constant process. ( Perhaps it should have been Darwin's "Theory of Co-evolution". )
Evoltree site seems to be destined to demonstrate how complex adaptive systems start and evolve...The Name Evol Tree is truely apat for an adaptive ever changing evolving system.
